Matthew Scraper


Matthew Scraper was born in Tulsa (OK) and raised in a suburb of Kansas City (KS). After graduating from Shawnee Mission South High School in Overland Park, KS, Matthew enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served as an Infantrymanin the Army’s famed 10th Mountain Division. Matthew is a graduate of the Army’sInfantry OSUT,  Airborne, Air Assault, Sniper, Master Gunner,Jungle Operations Training Center, and Primary Leadership Development Courses.

Matthew heard the call to ministry while serving in the Bosnian conflict, and returned home to pursue ordination in the United Methodist Church where he now serves as an Ordained Elder.

Matthew has earned a B.A. degree from Rogers State University, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry. Matthew has been appointed to United Methodist congregations inNew Milford (NY), Durant (OK),  Stroud (OK), and Marlow (OK) before being appointed to Southern Hills United Methodist Church (OKC) in 2016.

Matthew is married to Kate, and together they have three fantastic girls: Robyn, Samantha, and Megan.
