That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”” – Romans 10:9-10
We often think that believing something means we think it is true. This is only a partial understanding of faith. It is one thing to say that I believe a parachute will work. It’s another thing to jump out of an airplane, trusting that my parachute will open and bring me safely to the ground. In the same way, believing in Jesus is not merely a theoretical concept. When we genuinely believe that He is Lord and Savior, trust and commitment will follow.
In Hebrews 11:1, the Bible defines faith as being confident in what we do not see. It also says that the thing that pleases God the most is having faith. I have come to realize that when you have faith, everything falls into place.
In my life so far, I have gone through some tough illnesses, and lots of injuries. I truly believe in the healing power of Jesus Christ if we have faith and believe. Apart of that is knowing that God already healed us. He already died on the cross and took our pain away. The only thing we have to do is believe and have faith. So many times in our lives we find ourselves praying, “God please heal me Lord.” But in reality, God already did! Believe that and get rid of all your unbelief and doubts. Pray that your unbelief’s would be filled with belief and that your doubts would turn into faith. If you do this and trust His plan, you will begin to see transformation in your life like I have with mine. Anytime I have an illness or an injury, I try and not stress about it. But instead, I remember what sacrifice Jesus made on the cross and that He has already healed all of my aches and pains when He died and rose again.
I had gone through I tough time in my life a few years ago. I was really sick, and doctors all over the country could not find out what was wrong with me. I put my trust in people to figure it out and heal me instead of God. When I started praying, “God thank you for healing me when you died for me,” and told my body that I was okay, that is when things started to change. God is a healer. Just have faith.
Faith in Jesus produces very real results in our lives. We do not earn credit with God by doing good deeds. We are dead in our sins, and unable to save ourselves. However, Jesus made it possible for us to be made alive, to enter His kingdom, and to be a part of expanding His kingdom. When we put our trust in Him, We receive God’s transforming power within us.
